A stroll down Eston’s memory lane

By Joan Janzen

An interesting excerpt from Eston’s history book “Grass to Grain” was penned by Ethel Burke in the year 2000 when she told the story of how the Legion Hall was once Eston’s hospital. After a fire on December 2, 1952 at the hospital, patients and hospital equipment were transferred to the Legion Hall.

A feature of Eston’s 2000 homecoming was a reunion of babies who had been born in the Eston Legion Hall from 1952 to 1955.
