Blackmore officially sworn in as the 35th Commanding Officer of Saskatchewan RCMP

On May 26, special guests and RCMP employees officially welcomed Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore as the Commanding Officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP in a traditional ceremony held at the RCMP Academy in Regina.

The formal Change of Command ceremony involved RCMP Pipes and Drums, ceremonial uniformed troops, a flag party, the RCMP Eagle Staff, the Métis Sash and the Inuit Kulliq.

The change of command of the Saskatchewan RCMP was symbolized with a parchment signing and the transfer of the Divisional ensign from outgoing Commanding Officer, Assistant Commissioner Mark Fisher, who retired from the RCMP in 2020, to Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore, who has filled the role in Saskatchewan since May 2021.

“I feel privileged to be the Commanding Officer of such a great division and province and look forward to working together to achieve great things in the future,” Assistant Commissioner Blackmore said at the ceremony.
