Notice the lightning charge coming from the ground? Ground to cloud lightning starts off with what is called a "streamer" from the ground that is positively charged and can connect with a negative lightning charge from the cloud. It’s a lightning charge coming from the ground. This type of lightning is less common than cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning. This photo was taken on Sunday night at Kindersley.
