Grade 3 kids enjoy Food Farm Field Trip

By Joan Janzen

Grade 3 students from Kindersley, Plenty and Marengo gathered at the Kindersley Plains Museum on Friday, June 3 to learn about everything you need to make a burger and fries. A team from G-Mac Ag was on hand at the Food Farm Field Trip to teach the enthusiastic students everything they needed to know.

The students split up into small groups and visited six different stations including a livestock pen, vegetable planting at a garden plot, and young Mady Adamson had her own station featuring a variety of grains. The children also enjoyed wagon rides, watching a crop being seeded with horse drawn equipment, and last, but not least, were served some delicious hamburgers.

Mady Adamson teaches her fellow students all about different grains grown on her family farm.

Lionel Story brought his seeding outfit ready to plant the field adjacent to the museum.

These students were learning about livestock.
