Leader Girls win District title

The Junior SWAC district curling championship took place on March 3 /4 in Swift Current. Thanks to Laura Cornelson (Ecole Centennial) for being the commissioner and the Swift Current curling club for being  excellent facility hosts. There were six teams in each category (girls/boys/ open). We used a modified double knockout format to determine who would win their way to the final.

The girls final went to an exciting extra end. The A-side champion Leader team (Grace Wickenheiser, Rachel Cocks, Olivia Armstrong, Rene Butt, Darcy McKnight, Samantha Silbernagel, Coach Lana Marshall, missing Coaches Terri Broderick/Darrah Duchscherer) was the A-side champion and defeated the B-side champion Maple Creek to take the district title.
