Making lemonade for a good cause

By Joan Janzen

There’s an old saying “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade”. These two girls from Kindersley not only made lemonade, but are using the proceeds from their sales as a donation to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Kenzi Weese and Halle Wallace were running their second day of sales in extreme heat on the day I happened to drop in for refreshments.

Why are these two girls spending some of their summer holidays to help out the children’s hospital? “We enjoy doing this,” Kenzi said. “I think we’ll do it for three days.”

They already had a jar packed full of bills, and were well on their way to accumulating a generous sum for the hospital. Way to go girls! You are an inspiration to us all.
