Community Choir has been singing for decades

If you travel back in time to November, 1984, you will see that the Kindersley Community Choir has been performing in the Christmas Carol Festival all through the years, right up to the present. The Choir originated well before 1984; however a November, 1984 issue of The Clarion documents that year’s performance.

At that time Joan Netter was the director, and the musical offering selected was entitled “Forever Christmas”, which they performed at their annual Christmas Cantata, as well as several selections at the Carol Festival. Netter described its message as Christmas occurring every day of the year if we live it.

A highlight for the choir in 1984 was the increase in numbers, as there was a total of 55 singers in the group. That year the choir performed in the Christmas Carol Festival on both Friday and Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church.
