The Garden Bug: Frankincense
By Brenda Weaver
Boswellia trees exude a healing resin when their bark has been damaged. As this resin hardens, it is collected and sold as frankincense. In response to concerns about the conservation, legislation and trade developments affecting this industry, a Global Frankincense Alliance was formed in 2020 to address the long-term future of frankincense trees and the communities that harvest them.
