The Garden Bug: Holiday Cactuses

“Thanksgiving cactus” (Schlumbergera truncata) displays broad, pointy leaves and may bloom from late October through November.

“Christmas cactus” (Schlumbergera bridgesii) has scalloped, flat leaves and may bloom from late November to late January.

The “Easter cactus” (Rhipsalidopsis gaertnerii) displays rounded scalloped leaves, sometimes with "hairs," and may bloom from mid-March through April.
