The Garden Bug: Turning Soil

Prepping your soil for the demands of the growing season ahead is key to the success of your garden this year. You want to add in what might be lacking in your soil as your plants begin their growth.

If the soil crumbles when you work it around in your hands, then it is ready to till; if it's sticky, it may be too wet. Use a soil testing kit to see what nutrients should be added to your soil, then work the needed amounts into the soil before planting.
