I had a pretty good first weekend of spring. I travelled down to Gull Lake on Friday after work and helped Robert with some never-ending renovations on our house.

Leora Schmidt passed away quietly in her sleep at the Maple Creek Long Term Care facility on February 28.

It’s amazing what a little sunshine and warmer temperatures can do for a person’s mental health. As I said in one of my ramblings a few weeks ago, I had a case of the February blahs.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of the deep freeze. We’ve been in this cold snap for well over a week now, and I am so ready for spring!

When I’m having trouble coming up with one particular topic to write about, I often will think of something that’s happened during my week that has touched me in some way.

As we turn another page on our calendars, we are getting a little bit closer to spring. Let’s face it, 2020 wasn’t a banner year for the majority of us, and the beginning of 2021 has not been a heck of a lot better!

It seems like it has been forever since I wrote my weekly musing. In fact, it has been just shy of a month! I feel that I owe you an explanation.

When you ask people what their favourite Christmas movie or special is, you are sure to get several responses of “It’s A Wonderful Life”, “Miracle on 34th Street”, “Christmas Vacation,” or “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

It was mid-August of this year. I only had a few editions of Your West Central Voice under my belt. Things were going pretty well. Subscriptions were climbing, and advertising was starting to trickle in.

My Dad passed away in the early morning hours of November 30, 2010. It doesn’t seem possible that he’s been gone for ten years already.

I don't have much of a social life. I generally am in bed by 10:00 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday night. The coronavirus pandemic hasn't affected me as far as going to bars, concerts, big social gatherings.
