Double, double trouble. RCMP arrest suspect in Tim Horton’s B&E’s

By Kate Winquist

On October 31, 2024, the RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU), in collaboration with the RCMP Regina General Investigation Section, apprehended Joshua Elliot Moose, a 25-year-old resident of Medicine Hat, following a five-month investigation into a series of break and enters affecting multiple Tim Horton’s restaurants, including the Kindersley franchise. In addition to Kindersley, Maple Creek, Swift Current, Saskatoon and Indian Head were also targeted.

Twelve locations in Alberta, including Brooks, High River, Hanna, Vermilion, Rocky Mountain House, Rocky View County, Strathmore, Drayton Valley, Didsbury, Stettler, and two in Wetaskiwin, reported incidents of break-and-enter between June and October of 2024.

During the investigation, it was determined that Moose was located in White City, Saskatchewan. Following a break-and-enter incident on October 31, 2024, Moose was arrested outside a hotel in White City. A subsequent search warrant executed on Moose’s hotel room, vehicle, and apartment in Medicine Hat yielded a quantity of cash, tools, and firearms.

Joshua Elliot Moose has been charged with seven offences in Saskatchewan related to break-and-enter to commit theft and possession of break-in tools. In Alberta, thirty-one charges have been filed against him for break-and-enter to commit theft, possession of break-in tools, and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Moose was scheduled to appear in the Saskatchewan Court of Justice in Regina on November 6, 2024.

The Alberta RCMP extends gratitude to the Medicine Hat Police Service, Indian Head RCMP, White Butte RCMP, RCMP Regina GIS, and members of the Saskatchewan RCMP Police Service Dog for their invaluable assistance and collaboration in the successful apprehension of Moose.
